I recall being around the age of six or so and actually believing that I remembered being born. I saw a picture of my mom dressed in a blue and white hospital gown, holding my red, prune-like body and believing in confidence that I had memories of the whole thing. I must have argued with my brother for a good half hour, assuring him the day of my birth was crystal clear. Needless to say I didn’t win the argument.
As David says “such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain” that once we were nothing and now here we are– living, breathing, moving and fully human.
While life was once unknown to us, even then we were not unknown to God.
“Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” –Psalm 139:16
