by Erin McNeely

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, a wonderful excuse to give your loved ones reminders of how much you care! While there is nothing quite as sweet as a homemade card or encouraging love note, we have complied a little list of stylish Valentine’s gifts that give back and do good for the world. You may remember our World-Changing Gift Guide from Christmas time, and here are a few more amazing companies and products to check out as you search for a little something extra to help say, “I love you” to those you adore.

1. Mend Clutch  ($79)
Give a bag made with love from Mend! This leather Mend clutch is sleek and simple, but more importantly comes with a story. All bags are made by women in northern Uganda affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) conflict. One hundred percent of the proceeds from Mend purchases go to the improvement and rehabilitation of the seamstresses who create them.

2. Hazelnut Scarf by Sseko Designs ($49)
Add a touch of warmth and color with this Hazelnut scarf. The soft cotton and long length means the Hazelnut scarves can be worn as head scarves or draped around the neck. Not only is it a beautiful scarf, but it is also for a beautiful cause. Sseko Designs is an ethical fashion brand that hires high potential women in Uganda to enable them to earn money through dignified employment that will go directly towards their college educations and ensure they will continue pursuing their dreams. To date they’ve enabled 30 women to continue on to university and currently employ 45 women in Uganda from all walks of life.
