By September 3, 2020February 6th, 2021Podcast

Kayla Stoecklein lost her husband, Andrew—megachurch pastor of Inland Hills Church in Chino, California to suicide in August 2018. In the wake of the tragedy, she embarked on a brave journey to better understand his harrowing battle with mental illness and, ultimately, to overcome the stigma of suicide. Andrew was open about his depression and Kayla became open about his suicide. Kayla shares how what she has learned through her journey and what we can do better as a society and the church in identifying and treating mental illness. Kayla shares how her deep wounds have led to deeper joy amidst her grief and reflects on how joy and sorrow can co-exist.
