I think I’ve already told you I’m an obsessive list-maker and goal setter, so every New Year comes lots of resolutions, many of which I fail to carry through (let’s be real).

I mean, – us girls can only do so much, right?

Thankfully my shortcomings have taught me to be more patient with myself and a lot more realistic though I will always resolve to keep my dreams big (dreaming small does the world no good).

Lately there appears to be a trend to push aside long lists of New Years resolutions and just keep it simple with one-word vision declarations. Though I still have a small arsenal of 2011 goals and aspirations, I figured I’d give this one-word vision thing a try.

So the word I’m picking for 2011 is adventure. I want to risk more, love louder and live courageously. I don’t want to grow comfortable in my walk with God or the woman I am.

New Years resolutions aside, if you were to choose one word to inspire you forward this new year what would it be? Why?

“See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” -Isaiah 43:19
